For almost 10 years, as an attorney at some of the largest New York
and Florida multinational law firms including Morgan Lewis &
Bockius, Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Akerman Senterfitt, Mr. Baskin
has developed a sophisticated commercial law practice with
specialization in commercial financing, commercial real estate
transactions, including purchase and sale transactions, commercial
leasing (representing landlords and tenants), construction lending,
financing and refinancing of real estate transactions and litigation
related to such matters.
Mr. Baskin has also represented clients in creditor's rights, bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Ron has represented DIP Lenders, unsecured creditors, buyers and sellers of property in bankruptcy proceedings, debtors, and other significant parties in interest in many prominent and complex bankruptcy cases including United Airlines; Kmart; Polaroid; Wolf Camera; AHERF; American Commercial Lines and Galey & Lord.
Ron has extensive commercial transaction experience in New York and Florida and have represented commercial clients, and individuals in numerous matters, including representation of developers, investors, purchasers and owners in connection with the acquisition and disposition of all types of commercial properties, including office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, vacant land and industrial complexes. Ron has also negotiated, prepared and enforced commercial leases, and advised clients who sought to acquire or vacate such properties. He represents clients in all aspects of such transactions from drafting, review and negotiation of purchase and lease agreements, to matters in connection with title insurance policies, liens, zoning and variances, ordinance violations, easements, restrictive covenants and other encumbrances affecting ownership and development of the property.
Mr. Baskin has extensive residential transaction experience in the States of New York and Florida and has represented individuals and companies as purchasers and sellers of single and multi-family houses, condominiums and cooperatives. Ron represents clients in all aspects of such transactions from drafting, review and negotiation of purchase agreements, to matters in connection with title insurance policies, liens, zoning matters, ordinance violations, easements and other encumbrances affecting ownership and development of the property.
In April 2007, Mr. Baskin started the firm of Teitelbaum & Baskin, LLP with Jay Teitelbaum, so that they could provide big firm expertise and quality in an efficient and cost effective format. Based in White Plains, New York and New York City, the Firm is involved in all size commercial matters in New York City, White Plains, Westchester County and surrounding counties.
Mr. Baskin is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in the State of New York and has appeared before the New York State Supreme Court and the Bankruptcy Court for the Southem District of New York. Ron is also admitted to practice in the State of Florida.
Mr. Baskin is a 1999 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, and a 1992 graduate of the University of North Texas, with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. After graduating from law school, Ron joined the firm of Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP in its Business and Finance Group. In 2005, he joined the Real Estate Group of Akerman Senterfitt, located in Miami, Florida. Ron returned to New York in 2006 and joined the firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in the Real Estate Transactions and Finance Group.
